Tod and I bought Raymond's first book 'Mt. Zirkel' before our backpacking trip in the fall of 2004. We found it to be very informative, detailed and extremely accurate. We brought the book along with us on our trip, and it proved to be invaluable in our excursions in and around the Mt. Zirkel area. The trails, fishing and scenic ratings were right on the money. Mr Ave starts the Mt. Zirkel book out by giving a good summary of both the history and current conditions that one would find on this spectacular mountain. He then goes on to describe all the different trails in great detail. We would highly recommend both this book and Mr. Ave's website to anyone who is interested in visiting this area.
