Important Notice about Fryingpan Basin Trail:
Fryingpan Basin Trail 1127 is the Mount Zirkel Wilderness at its wildest. About a third of the way to its destination of Red Dirt Pass, the trail dissolves into a labyrinth of game trails. There are no tread, cairns or axe blazes to guide you past the location marked on the map above. There is no trail. Only persons with rock solid map and compass and backcountry survival skills should attempt to venture to Red Dirt Pass via Fryingpan Basin Trail. This is true wilderness.
